How the customer portal works

The customer portal is the part of EyeOnTask your clients use. They sign in to it themselves, ask for work, watch it happen, and pay — without ringing the office to find out what is going on.

What a customer can do there:

  • Send a request — pick a service, describe the problem, say when suits them, add photos
  • Follow it — the visit, the technician on the way, the photos and report that come back
  • Message the office on the request rather than by email
  • Approve a quote, and pay an invoice where a payment gateway is connected
  • See their equipment and the history of each unit

Everything they send arrives in Requests, where your office turns it into a job, a quote or an invoice as usual.

There are two portals, and they are not the same product.

What it is
Customer PortalThe original portal, at …/en/customer/
Customer Portal AI V2The current one, at …/en/customer-ai/ — the assistant box, the request steps, equipment, tracking and in-portal payment

Both keep working, and both use the same logins. What changes is which link your customers are sent.

Settings lists both, each with a switch. The one switched on is marked Live, and that is the portal your customers land on.

Turning one on opens a dialog that says what moves and what does not:

  • Changes — the portal link on the client page, and the link in the Send credential to contact email
  • Stays the same — both portals go on working, with the same logins

Yes, switch turns the other one off. There is always exactly one Live.

Companies that registered recently get V2 only. Their Settings list shows one row — Customer Portal AI V2, marked Live, with no switch — because there is nothing to choose between. The portal icon on a client’s page opens the V2 settings.

A customer who opens an old portal link after you have gone Live on V2 is taken to the new portal automatically, with the same code — nothing you sent out stops working.
